LISSA Officer and Election News

Two LISSA officers have resigned, leaving the Vice President and one Member-at-Large position open. Current Secretary/Treasurer Carrie Gassett will fill the Vice President role. A new election will be held to fill the Secretary/Treasurer and Member-at-Large positions. Anyone interested in running should email their name, name of the position desired and a short bio to untlissa@gmail.com. The deadline for nomination is Friday, October 2nd at 5pm.

Back to School Bash

LISSA Library Tour

If you want to know about a career in rare books or special collections, join LISSA for a tour of the Rare Book and Texana Collections at Willis on Friday, September 25th at 2 PM. You will get the chance to tour the area, see what kind of items are in the collection, and talk with the curator of the Rare Books and Texana Collections about what a career in special collections is like and how to get started. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by email to untlissa@gmail.com by Thursday, September 24th at noon.

If you are interested in a career in special collections, be sure to make it to the library tour of the Rare Book and Texana Collections on September 25th at 2 PM. Tour the library and hear more about careers in special collections.

The 2009 Children and Youth Conference for North Texas Libraries will be held tomorrow, Thursday, August 13 at the Lockheed Martin Recreation Area in southwest Fort Worth. Cost is $20 at the door, or you can register online here.
